I decided to exclude animated series from my Top 100 Sitcom Episodes list, but if I had to make an exception it would be for King of the Hill. Not because it's necessarily the best animated comedy but because it's the closest to a live-action sitcom sensibility. Some of the scripts are easily up to All in the Family, Cheers, etc. in terms of character development and dialogue. (Though King cleverly takes advantage of its animated format as well, as I wrote back in its younger days in 1999.)
Jaime Weinman is now posting reviews of King of the Hill episodes at his blog, TV Guidance, and they're worth checking out. This is an especially good clip from an episode he just recapped. I agree that the punch line is a killer.
