Supervised the production of the magazine: copy-editing, proofreading, acting as a liaison with our printer, and posting all content to our website. I created a blog, CW Unbound, and was then part of the team migrating content to a new website for CommonWealth magazine and our parent organization, the nonprofit think tank MassINC. Continued to write regularly for the magazine (see below) and to provide editing assistance for the research department of MassINC.

Copy-edited and proofread all content in the magazine and worked closely with writers in shaping articles on politics and public policy. Created and wrote several new departments for the magazine, including Statistically Significant and the map-based Head Count. I also wrote book reviews, essays, and analyses of state politics (“Mapping Massachusetts”) and presidential elections (“Beyond Red & Blue”) that were by far the most popular features on our website.

Wrote regularly on local and national politics, television, theater, and books; assigned and edited stories for annual "Best of Boston" issue; hired and supervised workers entering data for annual “Fall Preview” and “Summer Preview” issues; created and maintained database for arts listings. Copy-edited and proofread stories for all sections of the newspaper.

Copy-edited or proofread all material in the weekly newspaper for the LGBT community in New York (no longer publishing); designed pages on the Quark desktop-publishing program.
